Mollymook does not let us down

 Friday 2nd April

We have now offically been away for 3 weeks, although only on the Road Trip for 3 days but we have already covered a lot of ground. This morning following a delightful continental breakfast at our BnB we enjoyed a stroll along the main street of Central Tilba, a bustling energetic village on the top of a ridge amongst rolling green hills, previously favoured as the home of the River Cottage Farmer, Paul West and his family. There were bustling bakeries, a substantial leathershop, peruvian woollen clothing, candles and stunning jewellry to add in the mix and at the very top of the street the original ABC Cheese Shop famous for the production of Tilba Cheese since the late 1800’s. Many of the pub patrons were to be seen behind the counters, and I should add there was no shortage of food!! We departed with some steak pies as they had an enviable reputation and wrapped them in foil to keep warm before heading two hours north to the town of Mollymook. It was 26 degrees when we arrived and the Golf Club provided the necessary rehydration in the form of a couple of beers, an awesome view over the beach which was picture perfect with crowds of swimmers and sun bathers soaking up the rays. We enjoyed our warm Tilba pies, searched for and found the ubiquitous bag of ice (and several more food shops that were open) and duly checked in to our Air BnB, a mere 15 minute walk from the beach. The necessary washing is done, Flashy has had a significant afternoon nana nap complete with snoring, and Lady P is now contemplating a GnT. A delightful platter of cheeses, local pickled onions and pate for a light dinner before a well earned rest. Now to relax and enjoy 3 days in the one spot and what a glorious spot we have chosen, and how lucky we are with the weather.
